This is Respect Record’s first dubplate; a 10” vinyl record with some of Spain’s finest reggae artists. Fernando Izquierdo aka Lo-End Dub is the producer behind this monster roots riddim while reputed artists such as Payoh Soul Rebel, Marcus I and Don Fe interpret the tune in radically different ways.
Don Fe was also in charge of mastering and making the records.
This record has been created for soundsystems and selectors who seek the exclusive pleasure of a limited edition of only 35 copies with 4 takes on the same riddim.
The record kicks off with Payoh Soul Rebel‘s incendiary lyrics and great vocals followed by Don Fe´s soothing flute version. Marcus I‘s warm harmonies and lyrics follow suit on the other side and Lo-End Dub‘s dub version closes this 10″.
The Madrid-based producer played all the instruments on the record except for the horn section, which features Paolo Rizzardini on saxophone and Eduardo Pastor aka Mr Rudeboy on trumpet, while also mixing the record.
Four different approaches to the same song.
A record for roots reggae lovers.
Four songs that only exist on those 35 copies.
A real treasure.
